# Run a check

**Tip:**

Run the Checker Scripts on a plugin before you share it. The feedback is the point, not the score.

## Check a plugin

[Section titled “Check a plugin”](#check-a-plugin)

Terminal window

```
# [TBD: real command and flags]usuba check ./dropbox-widget
```

## What the Checker Scripts do with it

[Section titled “What the Checker Scripts do with it”](#what-the-checker-scripts-do-with-it)

1. They read the plugin’s code and flag invented APIs, missing helper scripts, made-up command flags and fake data.
2. They load the plugin in a real Omarchy shell and catch load errors and crashes.
3. They report every problem with a rule id, a plain reason and a fix hint.

**Heads up:**

The sample output is illustrative: the exact command and wording are `[TBD]` until the Checker Scripts ship. The rule ids are real, and come from [Usuba Standard v0.1](/docs/standard/).

```
$ usuba check ./dropbox-widget✗ USB-H02   Shows storage numbers, but Dropbox isn't installed.  fix: detect Dropbox first, and show an empty state without it.✗ USB-B02   Calls xdotool, which doesn't exist on Omarchy.  fix: use hyprctl for window info instead.⚠ USB-S01   Writes outside the plugin directory (~/.cache/dropbox-widget). Review it.
2 problems, 1 warning
```
